Veterans Tech Program 

Tech Time Cincinnati Foundation is honored to offer free technology training just for veterans. These small-group classes are designed to help veterans build confidence with smartphones and computers in a patient, supportive environment. This program is open to U.S. military veterans of all ages and tech experience levels who want help with everyday technology. We partner with Cincinnati Public Libraries and OhioMeansJobs to bring these services directly into neighborhoods where people already feel comfortable walking in for help. Whether you are brand new to smartphones and computers or just need a refresher, you are welcome.

What veterans will learn

Veteran-focused Tech It Easy sessions will cover many of the same foundations as our regular classes, with added emphasis on what matters most to veterans, such as:

• Smartphone basics: calling, texting, contacts, voicemail, and using accessibility tools

• Video calling: staying connected with family and friends through FaceTime, Zoom, and similar apps

• Email and online forms: sending messages, attaching documents, and completing basic online applications

• VA Hospital and health portals: navigating online benefits, telehealth visits, and secure messaging (for those who already have VA or health system accounts)

• Online safety: recognizing scams, phishing, and fake websites, and protecting personal information

• Everyday apps: maps, transportation, weather, news, and tools that make daily life easier

No previous experience is required. Veterans are encouraged to bring their own smartphones, tablets, or laptops if they have them; a limited number of practice devices will be available during class.

How this program is different from our regular Tech It Easy classes

Our Veterans Tech Program uses the same friendly, step-by-step teaching style as Tech It Easy, but:

• Groups are exclusively for veterans, creating a comfortable, shared-experience environment.

• Topics and examples are tailored to veterans’ needs, such as accessing benefits, staying in touch with fellow vets, and using online tools for health, work, and daily life.

• We build in extra time for questions, one-on-one support, and peer connection.
