Last year, we had the honor of supporting a talented student from Butler Tech High School's program, and this year, we're thrilled to continue our commitment by sponsoring another promising student on the Butler Tech team, Operation Orange #144. NXT-G3N PROJECTS
NXT-G3N 3D Builders
NXT-G3N 3D Builders is Tech Time Cincinnati’s hands-on youth 3D printing experience where students design and fabricate life-size projects and then give them back to the community as public art. Students learn the full build process from concept sketches and 3D modeling to print setup, assembly, finishing, and installation-ready presentation, while practicing teamwork, project management, and safe maker-space habits. Motivated students can also work toward industry-recognized certificates (including online professional certificates and optional certification exam pathways) that strengthen resumes and help open doors to internships, entry-level roles, and continued training in design/manufacturing. Each cohort works toward a real-world donation, transforming student creativity into meaningful art pieces that celebrate local pride and show young people they can build things that matter.
Harvest Heights Grow Lab
Harvest Heights Grow Lab is an AI-powered urban hydroponic farm and education center where underserved youth grow fruits, vegetables, and herbs while building real STEM and workforce skills. Youth learn hydroponics and vertical farming, plant science, and how to use AI-enabled sensors and dashboards to monitor growing conditions, detect problems early, and improve crop outcomes. Alongside the technical training, students practice leadership by managing planting schedules and volunteer teams, strengthen communication by leading tours and speaking at community dinners. Students learn business basics like budgeting and grant reporting. Students then turn their harvest into impact through free quarterly dinners, free community workshops, and produce donations to food pantries, schools, seniors, and other partners. Motivated students can also earn a professional certificate to strengthen their resume and connect their farm sensor data to real analytics workflows used in today’s jobs.
