SNAI

Special Needs AI

Special Needs AI (SNAI)

Create, design, and share your very own digital book with the help of AI, storytelling tools, and caring support. Special Needs AI (SNAI) is a small-group publishing program from Tech Time Cincinnati Foundation designed for students ages 7–13 who enjoy creativity, technology, and hands-on learning.

In this pilot program, students will use artificial intelligence as a creative helper while learning how to turn their ideas into an original digital storybook. With guidance from instructors, students will build characters, plan their story, design pages, and create a finished book using Canva. Every project is based on the student’s own imagination—AI is simply a tool to support the process.

What students do

Students in SNAI will:

  • Brainstorm story ideas and characters.

  • Build a simple storyboard.

  • Create pages and illustrations in Canva.

  • Practice basic typing, editing, and digital design skills.

  • Listen to and watch digital storybooks for inspiration on YouTube.

  • Complete their own digital book by the end of the session.

This program is designed to be structured, creative, and encouraging. Students will work in a supportive environment with predictable routines, step-by-step instruction, visual examples, and time to create at their own pace.

Showcase and awards

At the end of the session, families will be invited to attend a special Digital Book Showcase where students can share their finished work. Instead of public voting, students will be recognized through positive award categories that celebrate creativity, effort, imagination, and growth.

Possible awards may include:

  • Most Creative Story

  • Best Characters

  • Brightest Imagination

  • Storytelling Star

  • Design Excellence

  • Perseverance Award
