Level up your teen's summer and bring their video game ideas to life at the Game Design Academy! Whether they are dreaming of epic adventures, intricate puzzle games, or building wild new virtual worlds, this immersive camp is their launchpad for creating, coding, and monetizing their very own video game. Students will dive into hands-on sessions where they will design characters and levels, learn the fundamentals of game programming, and generate digital art all with the dedicated support of experienced instructors and a community of fellow young developers. Camp Highlights: Earn Professional Industry Certificates: A major advantage of our program! Campers have the opportunity to complete and earn recognized professional industry certificates, providing them with a strong foundation and a competitive edge for future college applications and career resumes. Create & Code: Use popular, industry-standard game engines like Unity or Godot to build a fully playable game from scratch absolutely no prior coding experience needed! Design Like a Pro: Craft unique characters, immersive environments, and dynamic visual effects using digital art tools and AI-powered design assistants. Playtest & Improve: Collaborate with peers to playtest, troubleshoot, and refine game mechanics to ensure maximum fun and a balanced challenge. Market & Sell: Learn the exciting process of publishing a finished game online (on platforms like itch.io or Steam) and discover foundational strategies to market and monetize their creation. Showcase & Compete: Present the final game at our end-of-camp showcase, receive constructive feedback from real players, and compete for high-yield youth business grants and prizes! Cancellation Policy
How to Enroll: All classes and camps must be booked through the Tech Time Cincinnati Foundation website. Available sessions and time slots are displayed in real time. Advance Booking: We recommend enrolling as early as possible to secure your preferred session. Some programs may fill quickly. Confirmation: After enrolling, you will receive a confirmation email with your session details. Please review this information carefully and contact us immediately if any corrections are needed. Payment: For paid programs, full payment is required at the time of enrollment via our secure online payment system. Memberships and scholarship programs may have other payment options. Preparation: For certain classes or mentorship sessions, you may be asked to provide relevant information or complete pre-camp assignments to enhance your learning experience. Standard Cancellations: You may cancel or reschedule your enrollment up to 14 days before the scheduled start time with no penalty. Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 14 days before the session start time will incur a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the program fee to cover reserved resources and staffing. For free programs, no fee is charged, but we kindly ask you to notify us as soon as possible so we can offer the spot to others. No-Shows: If you do not attend your scheduled class or camp without prior notice, this will be considered a no-show. No-shows for paid programs will be charged the full program fee and may be restricted from future bookings. Refunds: For eligible cancellations made within the permitted time frame, a full refund will be issued within 5–7 business days to your original payment method. Program Cancellation by Tech Time Cincinnati Foundation: Tech Time Cincinnati Foundation reserves the right to cancel any session due to insufficient enrollment, instructor illness, inclement weather, or other unforeseen circumstances. If we cancel a session you are enrolled in, you will be notified as soon as possible and offered the choice of A full refund of the program fee paid. Transferring your enrollment to another available session at no additional charge.
