About the Role: The Adult Tech Instructor is dedicated to bridging the digital divide and empowering adult and senior learners with the skills they need to navigate today’s digital world. This role requires a great deal of empathy, patience, and clear communication. It is a perfect fit for educators, tech enthusiasts, or community minded individuals who enjoy helping adults build confidence with technology. Whether our students are setting up a smart home, learning to fly a drone, or starting their own e-commerce business students engage at their own pace retaining maximum skill level material.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
Lead instructional sessions for your assigned adult program track, adapting your teaching methods to suit adult learners and beginners.
Break down complex technical concepts into easy-to-understand, practical steps.
Create a welcoming, patient, and supportive classroom environment where adult learners feel comfortable asking questions.
Assist students with hands-on setup and troubleshooting of their personal devices, software, or projects.
Available Adult Tracks:
Digital Literacy Bootcamp: Teaching foundational computer and internet skills.
Smartphone Savvy: Guiding users through mobile device navigation and apps.
Game On Generations: Introducing adults and seniors to gaming technology.
Drone Discovery (Adult): Teaching the basics of drone piloting and safety.
E-Store Entrepreneurs: Helping adults set up and manage online businesses.
Social Media and Digital Communication: Navigating platforms like Facebook and Instagram
Smart Home & Everyday Tech: Setting up and managing smart devices and home automation.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must currently reside in Cincinnati. Applicants who have lived outside the state of Ohio within the past 7 years may experience delayed or rejected applications due to background check limitations.
Strong knowledge or a willingness to learn the technology relevant to your specific track.
Exceptional patience, interpersonal skills, and a passion for adult education.
Experience working with adults in an educational, camp, or mentorship setting.
Strong knowledge or strong willingness to learn the technology relevant to your specific camp track.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
High proficiency in utilizing Google Workspace, Microsoft Teams, Connecteam, Coursera, and LinkedIn Learning.
Must be a college student, recent graduate, or professional in an education or STEM field.
Bachelor's degree preferred
CPR certification is a plus, though we do provide refresher training for our team.
Schedule and Commitment:
Mandatory training begins May 22, 2026.
The core summer programs operate from June 3 through August 7, 2026.
Summer hours run Monday through Thursday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with select free Fridays. Flexible scheduling options are available to accommodate volunteer needs.
Your official start date will depend on the successful completion of onboarding, training, and background check verification.
